Rogan did not “recently” turn from a leftist philosophy. This guy has been a detached millionaire since the 90s. I listened to his first several podcasts live on Justin.tv way back in the day. He has always been libertarian. In 2012 he went on the Tonight Show with Ron Paul to endorse him (hard to get more to the right of Paul). I used to argue about politics with Rogan on his forum fifteen years ago. So he got behind Bernie Sanders for a few months? Who did that ultimately benefit?
Who has actually been canceled? Podcasters love to talk about that, but we live in a free market. Has Mel Gibson been canceled? He seems to be doing okay. How about Shane Gillis? You let the extremes of twitter (amplifying extreme voices) shape your worldview.
You talk about COVID……who created “Operation Warp speed”? Who is planning on using AI to make more MNRA vaccines? You have to keep this same contrarian energy with our new President!
A lot of your issues revolve around gender and women’s sports. Did you know that only 1 in 100 people identify as transgender? Have you ever even met one? Yet they make such a convenient “boogeyman” (no pun intended) for propaganda purposes. Personally, I decided a few years ago that I was spending too much time discussing “trans issues” in conversations with conservatives at work. It did not affect my life at all. Why obsess over it? Of course I agree women’s sports should be for women. But I have never heard of this issue in Nor-Cal youth (high school) sports. And I imagine the San Jose State volleyball situation will eventually be corrected by athletic commissions. At the end of the day, women’s sports is not a top-100 political issue for me. I have more important things to vote on.
There will always be trans people, but I would say most of them today have been led there by social media algorithms. Ironically, just like social media algorithms have led many of you to worship this 78-year-old New York elite businessman. Should we continue to let impressionable youth be preyed upon by big tech? I would say regulate them. Will our new President do this? Considering he is in bed with literally all of them - I would say not! Imagine how much revenue Meta would lose if teenagers could not use their apps during school hours. Or any number of regulations that would help our nation’s future. This is a form of oligarchy and I doubt it’s what any of you Trump supporters would actually want.
I don’t expect to change anybody’s mind. Reasonable people can intelligently come to conservative positions. I would just hope that you would, in the future, question some of the potential propaganda you are exposed to (because it’s rampant).
At the end of the day, Trump won 49.8% to 48.3%. None of these issues are settled. I won’t come here making threads when the Democrats provide a better candidate and win one of the next ones.
