Closure AT Camanche Reservoir

Post by WB Staff »

EBMUD Recreation Update:
NOTICE - Temporary Closure of Camanche Reservoir Boat Launch
Effective immediately, the Camanche Reservoir boat launch will be temporarily closed. The closure is necessary to help prevent the spread of a harmful species of mussel to Camanche Reservoir and other water bodies. The invasive Golden Mussel (Limnoperna fortunei) has now been identified in North America for the first time and has been discovered in the Sacramento - San Joaquin Delta. This harmful, non-native species which poses a significant threat to natural ecosystems, water infrastructure, and water quality, Golden Mussels are similar to quagga and zebra mussels; they are invasive and proliferate quickly - but the Golden Mussel can thrive in a greater variety of conditions including waters with lower calcium levels , making them an even more significant concern. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this important precautionary measure.

Wouldn't drive thru or back in dip tanks full of mussel killing solution solve this problem?

Oh well if they make it to Eastman some how I think ill more than likey get over it.
I know bass tournament fisherman there in northern ca. are a sensitive bunch and get butt hurt easily so this northern ca. lake thingy being restricted lake stuff dont set well with them. Complain to your governor. But like me you'll get over it.

In this dumbacrat state nothing makes sense. For gods sake they are still counting the votes a month later. “CHEATERS” should be hung.

WHAT IF...........the DFG or whoever set up a HOT wash down area that the BOATER could wash down his OWN boat as he entered a ramp area and as he left also ?? They could put in 2-4 hoses and the wash down could be done in a short time. I guess it would need monitored somehow, but I think over time it would just become the norm and be much easier for all.

Yes. Where will the money come from? Our governor is more concerned with spending to trump proof Ca
Seriously. Boating recreation in Ca is the last thing they care about

I think it would be cheaper than having to service or replace water infrastructure.
