Trolling motor question

Post by MossdaleMonster »

My brush assembly broke in my minn kota edge. It’s a 45lb thrust foot pedal. The two pieces that broke are tiny magnets. Was just wondering if anyone would know a store or a marine shop that would sell something like that? I’m located in the 209.

Bobs Marine or C&C Marine in Modesto….. not sure if they will sell the parts but they both are minnkota dealers/service centers.

Maybe check the classifieds on this site. May get a low priced one for parts ..

This is where you go inn the 209. I think C&C refers everybody to this guy.
He probably has the parts in stock or can get them. Sidewinder Marine (209) 380-1000
I've bought stuff from him before and his prices are good.

I assume Jay Lee is still repairing Minn Kota motors? Not sure where you are located but I think he’s up north near Chico? He’s very competent.

Just do it yourself and rebuild everything. New armature, brushes, seals. Parts aren't hard to find. Can probably find some how-to videos also. Pay special attention to the torque specs when bolting it back up. Those long bolts can stretch and you can also screw up the o rings.
