MLF Clear Lake Thoughts?

Will there be a 10 pounder? More than 1?
Will the big sack break 30?
Will it take more than 80 to win?
Who will win it?

I would think the Clear Lake winner can be someone not relying on FFS in order to get the winning bag, that's what I'm hoping for at least.

I agree 27 a day sounds about right.
I do think there will be a 10 pounder.

Last couple years. It’s been the norm. Half the field blanks Numbers are down. You can’t just go down the bank and catch them like it used to be.

I based my 27 limit number on my own performance last week. I had a 25+ limit in 15 minutes on one spot. You have to move to find winning fish. Your not going to pull out a flipping stick and beat these fish into submission. To much pressure.

YIkes.. The Co angler results are abysmal. Must be super hard fishing from the back.

Pd my jigs would be the first choice. But I'm sure any type of finesse jig would work. You just have to pick the right color patterns and trailers.
Pd as I explained before leave it to the experts.

Sorry Pd not even close to a puffball on spinning gear bite. My friends were using 20 Lb. Abrasix But I opted for 12 and the last day when we walked into that flurry I was using 15 Bassix. That was my total with some 4's and a 6 on top of the two fives 5's. You should have seen the Crappie I caught on the same bait ...TOAD 3 pound fish. I love my Edge silver widow rod...I just hate the company. It was Kind of like your 25 or so pounds at Cachuma during the Feb. FLW tournament in the morning. mine went down at 2:00 in the afternoon.

Thank you for posting about Ken's 11!
Unfortunately it didn't count on the MLF leaderboard as big bass as it was caught on Day 3?

Actually Ken It was subterfuge on my part as I was In the know the week before and didn't want to pass my friends bite on and I figured the pros would start there. Great Job Ken In getting to the finish line on a tough week of weather and fishing. You did what I predicted privately to my friends. Awesome weight.

100% Kelly. forums and social media should be about fun. When I saw your original comments on Thursday, I quietly said “if I am fortunate enough to close this thing out on a flipping stick, I gotta come back on here and post it.”

Yep, he did it the old fashion way, Mano e Mano with Jigs. Didn't need all the new types of electronics but just good fish Knowledge. By the way Ken, Sandi loves the flipping stick

What you two know about anything wouldn't fill a small soap dish. 2200+ post over the years and I flipped/flopped...Ha. Laughable. What I know about Clear Lake I'll never share here. You'd have to go back 3 years and 14 reports before you would find any other anglers report on Casitas lake as I always pay it forward. Sorry my answer to Ken didn't work for you two. Final word . You can PM me any other comments.

I really really really ❤️ having a flipping stick in my hand, not sure other than an open water frog bite that I would want to do more.

Flipping is so much more personal and in their face. I can only do it in rare instances in SoCa lakes so that's why I travel in the pre spawn so much. What a thrill to get it done on Clear Lake with one of your preferred approaches. Thanks for sharing.
