My number 1 lesson in bass fishing is understand the basses activity level. The easiest bass to catch anywhere are active bass, the hardest to or impossible bass to catch are inactive bass.
If you think you can trigger a inactive bass to strike any lure it’s a waste of your fishing time.
Every individual bass during a 24 hour cycle will be changing activity levels. Bass don’t sleep per se but become inactive for period of time. The same bass will become very active hunting and feeding, knowing the difference in timing is the key to success.
Typical bass moods within a 24 hour period are very active-active-neutral-inactive. It’s the neutral bass we can slow down a try to trigger a strike, no response don’t keep trying and look for active that strike aggressively lures that represent what they keying on.
You accept this activity timing you will catch more bass.
