18.67 to Win Berryessa | 2021 APEX Championship FINAL RESULTS
Re: 18.67 to Win Berryessa | 2021 APEX Championship FINAL RESULTS
Congrats to Ken on the back to back wins!!! That's one heck of an accomplishment.
Does anyone know why APEX would schedule the TOC for 3 days at the Delta, have days 1 and 2 at the Delta, then not only postpone Day 3 due to weather but also change it from the Delta to Berryessa? Doesn't really seem fair to people who were leading after day 2 on the Delta. I know Ken is a major stick out there at the Delta and he could have easily come in with a 25+lb bag at the Delta and took first there too.
I'm not tryin to take away anything from Ken's accomplishment and I apologize if it comes off like that but man this kinda stinks for the guys who were in the lead after day 2 at the Delta.
Just wondering if anyone knows why APEX changed the TOC from the Delta to Berryessa mid way through the TOC when the Delta was perfectly fishable?

I have been wondering the exact same thing for a couple of weeks nows. I also share the same sentiment as you.
Re: 18.67 to Win Berryessa | 2021 APEX Championship FINAL RESULTS
There were a few tangible reasons this happened.
1) severe weather occurred on what would have been championship Sunday on the original date.
2) the WWBT Pro/Am championship was 2 weeks later on the Delta. The off limits for this event started the Monday immediately following the APEX Championship
3) there were 2 anglers from the APEX top 10 championship who were not in the Pro/Am championship
Had they put it back on the Delta on Monday this would have created an unfair advantage for 8 of the 10 anglers who would have fished the delta for 6 days.
APEX is designed to be twisty, and make us adapt to format changes. I hope this answers your questions.

Re: 18.67 to Win Berryessa | 2021 APEX Championship FINAL RESULTS
I gotcha and that makes sense. I just didn't know why they changed locations like that. I knew they postponed day 3 due to weather but I didn't know why they changed the location.
To bad they didn't make it a week before or a week after the WWBT Championship, which you still could have won like the WWBT Championship out there.
Either way, congrats again and thanks for answering my question.

That makes perfect sense. Thanks for the info.
