For the DIYer: After going through the progression of wet sand paper and color sanding using 1000 to 2500 grit, and following it up with the compounding and polishing process, it is most important to seal the gel coat finish before applying wax and completing the process. For me, it took a full weekend of work just to do the top cap and fenders correctly. I used 3M products.

Search this forum for the same topic. I remember there was a mention of someone in Nor Cal, maybe the Redding area (?) that was mentioned as doing quality gel coat repair and restoration work.
Always lookin' for mud lines!

Braggs Marine in Anderson, CA. They do excellent work. They applied a new gelcoat
to an older Ranger that I had. It came out like it was new again. braggsmarine.com

Restore a boat cleaner and polish by Larsen works good.

This is all you need to buff if you wet sand up to 2000 or just buff what you have using a wool pad. Finish with some sort of wax or sealant.

ProTec will work as long as you continue to maintain it. We have the kits or call Joe O’Connell at ProTec and get some.

Due to my body shop days I'm a 3m guy through and through. They make gel compound and polish.
I just wet sanded my Triton and polished it up. It took a few days of on and off work but she looks amazing now. I've done a few boats and a ton of cars so there's that.
