Is a Core 100MG suitable for swimbaits?

Post by sactomark »

I was thinking of using a core 100MG on my swimbait rod for baits up to an 8" Hud. Looking for some feedback on whether the the core is too much of a finesse reel for that much of a load.

Thanks

No sir....need a minimum 200 size reel, and max 6:1 gear ratio.

I wouldn't throw anything heavier than a half ounce on that reel.

It doesn't have enough line capacity. You'll spool it with a Hud. on a long cast.
