Recessed Trolling motor foot control kits???
Recessed Trolling motor foot control kits???
A friend was telling me that someone makes a kit to transform a deck mounted pedal type foot control into a recessed control such as those originally found on Bass Cat's and now available on many newer boats. Does anyone have any info on this?

I had a Comfortroll installed in my Ranger and it is awesome. If you are in the Sacramento area, contact Mike at C & C. He did mine and it was a great job.

I bought the Comfort Troll of the top of the page, and installed it myself. It took about 1 hour and I like it.

Hook Line and Sinker has the original aftermarket recess, Flat Foot.
Much like those mentioned above but Flat Foot has a larger drain system and more heel room in my opinion.

Comfortroll - Hands Down BEST $150.00 I have spent on my boat. It takes about an hour to install and about 15 minutes on the water to get used to. My back use to start hurting about 3 or 4 hours into a trip. Now it doesn't really bother me until the very end of the day if at all. Not to mention it seems to make me a little more stable when controlling my boat in rough conditions.
Don't ask about my username, all I need to say is check yours and check them often.

Hey Viper-you will not regret installing the recessed foot pedal. Your back will remain in a more vertical position, and consequently, less torque on the spine. I agree with the others that this is a "must" addition to your green Viper.
Just Say ComforTroll...
Installing that will be the best hole you cut in your boat.

Installed the Flat Foot on my 492VS, best thing I ever did. It also was the hardest (cutting hole in my boat, ouch). The process was easy except for the foam in the bow of the Ranger. Ranger owners should purchase about 3 feet of extra tubing, after drilling through the foam under the deck with a 2" hole saw to the PVC drain pipe that runs from the bow, drill a hole in the top of pipe only, then attach the tubing to the pan and feed through the hole in the pvc pipe (Seal the edge of the pan with clear Lexel before setting the screws.) this will allow the water to drain directly to the bottom of the boat and out to the bilge pumps. Anyone that fished berryessa last Sunday knows how fast the foot pans can fill up if the drain is not working correctly, Good luck...

You will miss the "fun" of hip replacement!
If you do something smart like that - you will miss all the fun of aches and pains and maybe a hip replacement like I had to do after lifting my right foot (and leg) about 5 million times in 30 years!! The surgeons will be disappointed that we have solved the "pedal problem"!

And the back spasms when you're driving home.
My Flat Foot has been a life saver. I have sciatica, and not only does it not bother me at all now after I fish, I have better balance with the pedal recessed.
I raised it 1 1/2" with two layers of 3/4" plywood down in the recess, leaving space for drainage, and now it's perfect for me.
"Results may vary". I know that's what all products say now a days, but you won't be disappointed with how much better it is to fish with a recessed pedal, no matter which brand you buy.
