For the first time, the Sonoma County Belly Boat Bass Club (SCBBBC) held it's Lake Berryessa stop at Chaparral Cove on March 10th. Coming in on top was long time club member Binh Phi.
Binh Phi
Even pre-fishing the wrong part of the lake the week before did not slow Binh down. He used a combination of crankbaits and dropshots to collect a five bass limit of 14.48 pounds. Coming up 18 hundredths short of a win was John Hatfield. His five fish limit of 14.31 pounds came fishing the Pope Creek arm. Third place went to Carson Riley, weighing a five bass total of 13.98 pounds. This result also vaults him into the early season points lead. Forth place goes to Jon Graves with another limit of 13.90 pounds. Rounding out the top five was SCBBBC tournament director Andy Mercado with five fish totaling 13.31 pound.
Jordon Brendel
Following up his tournament and big fish wins at Lake Sonoma last month, Jordon Brendel nailed a nice 5.53 pound Berryessa largemouth to take the big fish prize again. Congratulations to all the top finishers. Thank you to all the officers for another well run event.
And special thanks to the staff at Chaparral Cove for their hospitality. They have been great to work with and are kick boat friendly, so if you want to drop in and fish up north, definitely give them a try. Next stop for us, the BnT Pro Kickboat Open at Clear Lake. Until then, tight lines.
