How to store mend it glue?

Post by WANNA HOOK BIGGIN'S »

Whats the best way to store mend it glue? My first bottle dried up in my tackle bag. Obviously this stuff ( which is great by the way) needs to be kept cool but will keeping it my ice chest (that has actual ice) be too cold? What's the best way to store this stuff?

THanks

Will, the owner, now has Mend-It in a glass bottle - won't dry up as long as you keep the lid on it.
The new bottle is available at almost any tackle store. Get that and you'll have Mend It for years. I think one bottle lasted me a little over 15 months - and I use it a lot! Not bad for $12. Probably saved me $1000.

Mend-it is evaporative by the nature of it's ingredients. We tried soft plastic bottles, hard plastic bottles and finally have resorted to glass bottles. They cost seven times what the plastic cost but should provide at least a two year lifespan, probably longer-my wife has fingernail polish in similar bottles that's over 10 years old. I know some guys who freeze Mend-it and others who refrigerate it. I recommend using it before it thickens/dries out. If it does thicken on you, adding a bit of MEK will bring it back. I keep my plastic bottled Mend-It in a glass jelly jar in my boat.

I never used a bottle more than once and it turned to gel. I don't buy it anymore. They said the last bottles were better and they dried up. Let me know in 15 months if anyone gets a bottle to go more than 2 weeks.

Mendit comes in glass jars now.

I have the plastic bottle so would laying it directly on ice be too cold or do I need to store it in a glass container?

Thanks
