Old School Rock all the way!
I set up my I-Pod with the following tunes that I listen to while I drive, during blast-off, during the day, and getting back for check-in.

I cursing out to the blastoff point I have Low Rider on by “War”, then at blastoff I have that Classical piece that is played in the movie Apocalypse where the helicopters are flying in for an attack.

Through the day get down to just to name a few:
*AC/DC -Give the dog a bone, Boggie Man, Dirty Deeds, There’s Going Be Some Rockin, and Hells Bells.
*Aerosmith -Mama Kin, Same Old Song & Dance, Big Ten Inch, Back In the Saddle, Dude Looks Like a Lady, Just Push Play and Walk This Way.
*Allman Bothers Band - Firing Line, Woman Across the River, Rockin Horse, and Old Friend
*Bad Company - Movin On, How About That, and Here Comes Trouble.
*Bob Seger - Old Time Rock & Roll, Like a Rock, Fire Down Below and Her Strut.
*Deep Purple - Highway Star and Smoke on the Water.
*Eagles - Life in the Fast Lane, Heartache Tonight, and Get Over It.
*Fabulous Thunderbirds - Tuff Enuff, Stand Back, Wrap It Up, and I Don’t Care.
*Foreigner - Hot Blooded, Double Vision, Dirty White Boy, Urgent, and Juke Box Hero.
*George Thorogood -Bad to the Bone, I Drink Alone, One Bourbon – One Scotch – One Beer, and Treat Her Right.
*Grand Funk Railroad - We’re an American Band, Walk Like a Man, The Loco-Motion, and To Get Back In.
*Grateful Dead - Truckin’, Casey Jones – High on Cokekan.
*Guns N’ Roses - Welcome to the Jungle, It’ So Easy, Nightrain, Out Ta Get Me, Paradise City, and You’re Crazy.
*Iron Maiden - 2 Minutes to Midnight, Running Free, The Trooper, and Hallowed Be Thy Name
*Jerry Garcia - When Push Comes to Shove
*Judas Priest - Come and Get it and Johnny B Goode
*KISS - I Love It Loud, Heaven’s on Fire, Hotter Than Hell, Christine Sixteen, Let Me Know, Parasite, and Take Me.
*Led Zeppelin - Black Dog, Whole Lotta Love. Heartbreaker, Immigrant Song, and Trampled Under Foot.
*Lynyrd Skynyrd - Bown South Jukin’, Saturday Night Special, Gimme Three Steps, What’s Your Name, That Smell, and I Know a Little.
*Meat Loaf – Paradise by the Dashboard Light and Bat Out of Hell.
*Queen – Another One Bites the Dust, Fat Bottomed Girls, You’re My Best Friend, We Will Rock You, and We Are The Champoins.
*Quiet Riot – Cum on Feel the Noize, Party All Night, The Joker, and Let’s Go Crazy.
*Rolling Stones – Harlem Shuffle, Little Red Rooster, Time Is on My Side, Sympathy for the Devil, Tumbling Dice, Midnight Ramber, a lot more!
*Sammy Hagar – Mas Tequila, Shag, Don’t Fight It, High Hopes, Heavy Metal, Three Lock Box, and I Can’t Drive 55.
*Steppenwolf – Born to be Wild, Magic Carpet Ride, The Pusher Man, Sookie – Sookie, and Screaming Night Hog
*Steve Miller Band – Jet Airliner, Dance – Dance – Dance, and The Joker,
*Stevie Ray Vaughan – Pride and Joy, Crossfire, and Cold Shot
*Styx – Renegade and Blue Collar Man
*Ted Nugent – Cat Scratch Fever, Live It Up, Fist Fightin’ Son of a Gun, and Wang Dang Sweet Poontang
*Three Dog Night – Sure as I’m Sittin’ Here, Mama Told Me, Nerer Been to Spain, and Eli’s Coming
*Twisted Sister – Stay Hungry and I Wanna Rock
*Van Halen – Jump and Panama
Whitesnake – Crying in the Rain, Bad Boys, and Still of the Night
*ZZ Top – Sharp Dressed Man, Tuch, I’m Bad, Give It Up, Cheap Sunglasses, La Grange, and Tube Snake Boogie, Legs

I also have Uncle Kracker and Kid Rock through out my IPod.
Hope next year I find the time to putt a 100 watt amp where I just plug my I-Pod to feet two speaks into my boat.

Wow--for a guy who pushes the conservative agenda as much as he does (see political board here), Marty sure digs a lot of the left leaning, doobie smokin, carefree, hippie-agenda-believing kinda artists! Especially Ted Nugent--the draft dodger who went into the draft board with poo--poo + pee-pee in his pants and hair to get out of Vietnam! And Judas Priest--Rob Halford sure wore his overt Castro Leather Daddy image with rainbow pride, didn't he!

That was one of my favorite albums. I saw DI (and sister band, the Adolescents) play many times in the mid-80s. First time I saw them was at the On Broadway/Mabuhay in SF with Social Unrest and the Hot Spit Dancers on the bill!

I guess the time has passed when bass fisherman were country boys! I would be listening to: Gary Allen, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Brooks & Dunn, Tim McGraw, and Montgomery Gentry. Of course for you rockin' country boys, there's ALWAYS Lynard Skynard!

Even in the olde days, bass fishing wasn't strictly a country bumpkin pursuit. Ever seen the many classic pics of bass fishermen wearing fine sporting tweed, neckties and fedoras? You have to be well dressed for a fine day of sculling and doodlesocking. They were more sophisticated sporting gents than country boys...

I'll Play the BLUES for You!

Post by Cooch »

For those who don't know me, I listen to a lot of music, for the most partm it's all one big genre in one way or another.I'm kind of a blues nut. Many who have spent time here with me at the house on the River, can atest to that, it's fitting of the life style. I've always been a blues fan, since the 60s when I was a young kid listening to Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Savoy Brown, Cream, Jimmy, Janis & the original Fleetwood Mac. Today, my favorite CD ta carry along with me is Tino Gonzales' A New generation Of The Blues.

Dead Man's Shoes is blastin in the parking lot as I prepare the boat, and by the time I hit the ramp I'm poppin-n-boppin to Body & Fendor Man. Fish beware, the ole adrenalin is flowin now baby! When I was fishin the BASS tours here in the west from '97-'02, guys could always find me in the parking lot before and after the days of fishin. Pat dilling & I used ta lawya bring the CD when we were teaming up. My good buddy Delta "Doink" Dan, even to this day, venture out with that CD player from time to time. And I'm sure there are a lotta AMs who fished with me from '94-'99, will rember the many days when I was blastin' Stevie Ray & Clapton, as we wuz blastin fish. Nothin lights the fishin' fire in my blood like that of a blarin' blues Fender geetar!

For those who've never heard of Tino, here's a lil 8 minute diddy he did in tribute to Marvin Gaye some time ago. Also purty good lil tribute thru out the song with some cool videos of World happenings and a tribute to our troops at the end! ENJOY!
