Definitely Senko's, color varies, Beavers, once again color varies, and a jig and once again color varies..I don't believe color is near as important to the fish as it is to the fisherman..Of all the things we can control as a fisherman/woman color of the lure/bait is probably the least important..

I vary up stuff a lot so there's never three baits out there all the time, especially depending on season. But the one bait that is always out there in one rigging option or another is my Iovino s20 spade tail worm.

Right now my other two baits would be a lunker punker of one size or another and redcraw crankbait, either Bomber or SpeedTrap.

And I'll add to that a chatter.....shad pattern.

In no particular order or color I'd say frog, senko and jig OR frog, senko and spinnerbait. Either way I gotta have a frog.

I like to use the BBZ knowledge and follow the Top, middle, bottom philosophy.
Too many picks really but I will try. :)
Body of water is relative so... I will use Orovile as my example.
Top is a Spook... :D or Mikey Jr.
Middle is a 1/8 darthead w/a Green Pumpkn Tube(I like the Magic worm tubes myself, thinner profile) :D
Bottom would be a 3/4 oz Brwn Purp Football jig. Yami 180 single tail trailer. :D

It might be different baits if I fish from the back or different water.
Senkos - 240(Smoke Blue Pearl)
Wacky Jig -SENKO ANY COLOR...
Lucky Craft cb350- Chartreuse Shad

I fish San Jose area reservoirs:

1) Roboworm MMIII either split shot or shakey head or drop-shot
2) Zoom Baby Brush Hog watermelon red flake or green pumpkin C-rigged.
3) Senko: watermelon red flake or green pumpkin
4) Zoom Trick worm: watermelon magic T-rigged
5) Hula Grub on a football head: watermelon red flake.

99% of my fish are caught on the above plastic and I always do try to get em using spinners, cranks and topwater but have to come back to one of the above. Of course my PB is still only a 6#'r so consider the source

Right now today:

Brown Jig-n-pig
White HairRaiser w/Hyperstryper tail
Vibrating swimmin' jig Char/White

For me, it's seasonal as well as situationally different from week to week. Without a doubt, there's only one bait I could not live without, and that's a jig. There are so many forms of jigs, I could come up with 3 types for every season as well as different sets for various bodies of water. Flippen jig, football head, darter head, Gitzit, Hair jigs, Spider jigs, Vibrating jigs, paddle tails with a lead head jig, spoon jig, there's many more, but with just these, ya git my drift.

1. ) Jig - If I could only have ONE color or style for any lake any time of year it would be a brown TnT Wadda Jig - With a Yamamoto Single tail in 164
Image

2.) Jerk Bait - If you had to pin me down for one jerkbait on all bodies of water any time of year I would go with the Pointer 150 in Ghost Image

3.) Spinnerbait - If you had to pin me down for only one for all bodies of water any time of year I would have to say Limit Lures 1/2oz bluegil (white, chart, blue) Image

But please dont pin me down to one style or color throughout the year, it just aint right, that would be like trying to use a jackhammer to pound nails

This is a hard question basic on time of year, lake or river, weather conditions

Right now on the river

1. wadda jig with a single tail grub
2. speed trap
3. paddle tail swimbait

overall if i had to pick for any lake or river

1. senko
2. jig
3. drop shot

If had only three to choose from and the time of year was not a factor it would be.
Jig
Trap
Spook.

If I had to narrow it down to one bait it would be a Jig hands down.

Time of year and the body of water will vary the choices a little. Spring - 7 inch Osprey Swimbait, late summer and fall on the Delta - Frog, Late summer and fall on Santa Margarita Lake - Vibrating swim jig, etc.

Top three per the original question: My own handtied Jig with a variety of trailers, Booyah Spinnerbait and a Zara Spook.
