Paycheck Baits "The One"

Post by FROGvsBASS »

I've been getting after the striper bite lately and was wondering if any of you hardcores have tried that pencil popper from paycheck. I know the stripes like the big walking baits just wanted to know if any guys have had any success and if so what color(s)?

Have not tried it but they are very similar to the pencil poppers so I know they will work.

Not just a pencil popper....they walk as good as anything ive fished....pop and walk....you can walk them....pop and walk them....pop them only....sounds like a commercial for them but ive caught 5 fish over ten on them in the last month so im a fan especially in dead calm water

Randy Pringle's Ima Big Stik are better, it has better action, rattles, and Owner 3x hooks!

I have looked at that big stick and it looks a little bigger than im used to throwing and I like that the paycheck one has three hooks. But I think I see "One" in my future :D

havent tried the paycheck , yet ....

the EEEEEEEEE MMMMMAAAAAAHHHHHH hahah aka IMA big stik however, is a gift from god ... its becoming one of my fav go 2 TW lure, stripers go nuts on em ... im sure pringle will be the first to tell ya about it haha ... you can walk em slow and not cause much comotion on the calm days, but if windy and a lil rough out there you can pop em hard and cause all kinds of comotion ... plus with the 8 rattle chambers in em you can hear that thing comin from daaaaays away ...

though the stripes have been changing their mood on me quite a bit lately ... one minute lunker punker, next pencil popper, the IMA however seems to getem whenever ... just carries a nice price tag with it too :(

The paychetek bait has three hooks and if u use braid you'll find it tangled on front hook a lot. The big stick only has 2, Randy did his homework!

I'm pretty sure I can walk it and to me 3 hooks sounds like it might be worth the effort...I have a feeling I might be calling BTD for one of each.

yep, they HANG alot. Try waxing the first 24" of your braid and that will help.
The Tux's do like em', but they are starting to come apart a bit.

I've been fishing "THE ONE" since it came out and the thing I like the most is that it doesnt hang up in the braid. The bumpers around the hooks almost eliminate that problem no matter how you work it, and the action is effortless.
