Brian Linehan joins USAC
Brentwood, CA - US Anglers Choice is pleased to announce the addition of Brian Linehan to the USAC staff as Inland Empire, Diamond Valley Night, and San Diego trails director for the 2011 season.
Brian comes to USAC with a wealth of tournament experience having run events for 100% BASS and WON BASS in the past several years. Brian has also had plenty of tournament experience, fishing several Pro-Am events and numerous team trails over the past two decades. Well known by the anglers in the regions he will be managing, Linehan has the respect of his fisherman as a level handed director who is very organized and prepared when it comes to running tournaments.
“It is my goal to create a competitive, welcoming, and fun experience for the anglers who will be fishing in the trails that I will be runningâ€

Brian Linehan???? Are you kidding me? You couldn't find anyone else?
Just kidding Brain. Congrats and good luck.
Hopefully I will be fishing tournaments again next year. That is unless I'm taking Hailee all over OC to play basketball.

Pete - You gave me no choice but to hire Brian after your "Head in the box" comment. I always knew you were secretly Taliban.
Rob, our TOC outline can be viewed on our rules, but in a nutshell, qualifiers are fishing for a Mercury/Legend boat package at the end of the year. We'll throw in a dream date with Brian if that will seal the deal for you...
We will of course be coming out with more details on everything as the season approaches. Any scheduling overlaps between teams and Pro-am events are currently being addressed and will eliminated in the coming weeks as DFG sends out permits.

You fish against the rest of the AOY's that show up at the TOC. When Ken and I won AOY in 2007 You had to finish in the Top 3 of those teams, and then what you get is determined by your finish within those top 3 teams. If you don't finish in the Top 3 of the AOY teams at the event, you get nothing in addition to the Plaque you get for being the AOY of your region...
This is from the 2009 rules:
22.) 2007 ANGLER OF THE YEAR CHAMPIONSHIP PROGRAM: At the conclusion of each divisions tournament year the team with the most points shall be deemed the Anglers of the year. This shall also include the Choice division. As Anglers of the year, those teams will then advance to the Regional championship and fish against all the other divisional Anglers of the year at the Regional Championship. The top 3 Angler of the year teams shall be awarded the following prizes.
◦1st Place $1,000.00 in Cash and Prizes plus Entry Fees for 2009 Team Events
◦2nd Place $$750.00 in Cash and Prizes plus Entry Fees for 2009 Team Events
◦3rd Place Entry Fees for 2009 Team Events
These prizes shall be independent of the regular Regional Championship prizes and the Anglers of the year shall be fishing for both prize pools.
In a nutshell, if 9 AOY teams show up and 3 of them finish higher than you, you get a plaque and your picture in BassWest magazine the following June.

That didn't seem to take long to happen.
Things just continue to keep changing over at WON Bass.

Man, it must be Brian Linehan's birthday. AC director and Prop 8 is overturned in 24 hours? Really Brian, it can't get any better for you!

Re: Brian Linehan joins USAC
Thanks for all of your support. I appreciate it!
Yes, I am the new team director for the Inland Empire, San Diego, and AC Night Series regions. I have some great ideas for the upcoming year and am excited about the new opportunity. Being a tournament fisherman myself, I know what you guys like and what you don't.
Gone are the days of one lake circuits! Each of the regions I'm running will visit at least 3 lakes over the course of the season. In addition, TOC qualifiers will be fishing for a new boat/motor combo in the South as well as the North!
Feel free to contact me if you have any suggestions/requests as I'm always open to suggestions and thanks again for your patronage over the years!
Thanks,
Brian (714) 580-4088

Congrats Brian. Great addition for AC. Both Kevin and Brian Linehan are GREAT guys in our sport. They are both very knowledgable, great fishermen, and rock solid guys. I consider both friends. Kevin's the one that needs a better job
Re: Brian Linehan joins USAC
Bill, solid hire in picking up Brian. His presence alone will add at least 3 boats to the field in his regions Since you let the cat out of the bag regarding different lakes within a region, where's the 2011 TOC going to be for Region 2 ?

If I had it my way, it would be Eisenhower park in Orange.
I'm assuming it will be Havasu or Mead.

Re: Brian Linehan joins USAC
We are going to break new ground with a three day - three lake series at Yorba Regional Park. Each day you get to fish one of the different Yorba Park Lakes. All anglers will be provided with a performance tuned, matching Spongebob combo and a pack of Banjo minnow lures. This will level the playing field so that no one has a home lake advantage.
If there is a tie, we will then move to a trailer park I know in the area that is stocked with bass. In a move similar to "America's next top model", Hippie, Brian, and David Hasselhoff will judge the anglers on thier ability to fish while clad in speedos and high heels. Anglers will do a "Catwalk" with thier catch as they head to the scales. The winner will be determined on total weight and style points
This format was the only way I could convince Brian to come to work for USAC.
All kidding aside, we will announce the TOC location prior to the start of the season. Locations and contracts are still being worked on so to release that information this early would be premature. I think most will be happy however....
Alright, enough messing around. I have to get back to some real work now. Have a good weekend all.

Re: Brian Linehan joins USAC
Ok guys, below is the Anglers Choice Inland Empire Region schedule. We know how important it is to publish the schedule as soon as possible so you can all make plans accordingly.
We're visiting 3 different lakes over the course of the 7 tournament season ending up at Irvine Lake in May. The bite will be off the hook! All of the tournaments are on Saturdays and don't conflict with NBW, WON, and ABA! I promise to make things fun and interesting and have a few tricks up my sleeve to make this region a blast.
As far as the TOC, you all will be very happy when you find out where you'll be fishing for a new boat/motor combo!
11/13/10 Diamond Valley Lake
12/11/10 Lake Perris
1/15/11 Diamond Valley Lake
2/12/11 Lake Perris
3/19/11 Diamond Valley Lake
4/23/11 Diamond Valley Lake
5/21/11 Irvine Lake
I hope you guys like the schedule and I'm looking forward to seeing you next year!
