Ouch!!!! - $20 to cross Bay Area Bridges Pulling Your Boat
This is part of an article from today's Sacramento Bee:
"So, there you are on a day off from work, tooling along in your truck, towing your boat and heading to the Bay Area for a nice day of fishing.
Better hope they're biting, because you're going to have to pony up.
Under a proposal to be voted on Wednesday, the $8.25 bridge toll you now pay for driving a truck and two-axle trailer eventually will shoot up to $20.
It's part of a package of toll increases proposed for Bay Area bridges that is designed to raise $750 million for seismic work and other needs, and it's not sitting well with some anglers......"

I posted information about that a couple months ago. I hope everyone sent their concerns to the email addresses I posted at that time.
At least they delayed the increase for another year! And they were talking about $25 for a tandem axle trailer.
This sucks, BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! John.

It seems like you guys just get killed out there for being a fisherman. I guess tree hugers don't like to fish but they sure eat the hell out of some susi

I see it this way; I pay twenty bucks to go across the Antioch bridge or pay with a bad back going across Hwy 4. Twenty bucks sure cuts into my budget these days. I recall the the story of the frog in a pot of water. If you slowly turn up the heat he will just stay put and boil but if the hot water is quick he will jump out. I feel like a frog sometimes living in California.

To me it also seems a way of controlling what we do-
not to mention the taxes we pay buying a boat, tackle, a fishing licensce, gas, property taxes for the boat, insurance... the list goes on.
If you want to play you have to pay... Im sure thats the new slogan in Sacramento..... Where did I hear that before?
Hopefully he wont be back.

I just got my boat a little over two years ago and just started to venture away from the central delta where I've been dipping the boat from the time I got It, 6 Months ago I went up north for the first time lookin for smallies in the Sac- River and the 8.25 it cost to get my truck & trailer across the Antioch bridge about blew my mind! $20.00 boy due I feel Small Now!!
The boat goes no where without the truck, If it was a commercial rig I could see it, but a small fishing boat, Come on!!
I was thinking about clear lake but with gas for the boat, truck and bridge fee's you'd better be sponsored by a few companies first. Don't even think about an over night stay $$ Cha-ching
