Let the games begin!! This should be the best HBC yet!! A lot of locals will be fishing it for sure.

How about a money option for the largest striper of the day?

Since I cant go to Havasu Fri and Sat then fish DVL on Sunday, I'll be fishing this event... It should be fun.....and cool to fish a new format.

I've done two of these (Clear Lake and the Delta) and thought that was enough but since it's on DVL I may do a third one.

Good way to see all the great things they say about this lake.

As a VTO that is.

DVL is an incredible lake, Mike. It can be so very good that it can ruin you (or it can just ruin you). It is, hands down, one of the best swimbait lakes in the West, if not the country.

I'll take that bet.

Great job Ron,

DVL could produce the giant this tournament is looking for.
Good luck to all!

Maybe Mike Long will fish this one... he holds the DVL record and it'd be cool to see him go after one in a tournament.

For $ 25.00 I'll say a bed fish takes it down

No doubt they’ll be on beds so are you talking site fish?
I could have weather on my side. The winning fish could come from a blind cast and still be a bed fish.
Make it a dollar and the bet is a site fish and ur on.

Negetive... This event will NOT be won Bedfishing...why do you think that during the spawning tournaments that very few people bedfish at DVL??
This tournament will be won by someone fishing for Prespawners... No doubt..

Pete is right. If you want a big fish, you do not sight fish at DVL. I'll take that bet and raise you $1.

I'd bet the big fish is caught either on a swimbait or c-rig.

Ok I'll be the bookie on this 1 up to $ 25.00 on each 1 of these

1) A bed fish that is seen will win this event instead of a swim bait fish

2) A bed fish that is seen will win this event instead of a prespawners that the fish's tail is not red or beat up

Like I said, a bed fish will not win this event...

Most of the Big Bass at DVL spawn deeper then the rest of the bass there. Yeah I know... some big girls spawn shallow there.
I caught a 10.25 lb bed fish in 6 ft of water there 3 seasons ago, BUT most big girls are much deeper 15+ ft.
With the presure that lake is going to get during the early part of the spawn (MARCH)... big bedfish will be nonexistant come tourny day. Sure...its possible but its VERY unlikely.
Prespawn bass will rule this event.... enough said! The technique will depend on what different people like to throw for the big prespawn females..

The bed fish action is part of the reason the lake will be off limits to anglers the day before the tournament so there cant be any lookers for them. Also the other reason is that the HBC anglers have caught bigger fish the day before the toruny 2 times. Butch at Pedro with a DD and myself at the Delta with a 9.80 both fish caught the day before. The event will be a good one and I cant wait to go to Diamond because I have never been there

Curry...

Post by Brian D. »

yer a funny guy. hehe 8) Put me on with that bet Kirk. Winning fish will be a staging prespawner and not a bed fish.

On another note, although I love the HBC concept the WON schedule change has me torn between fishing 2 days at Havasu for smallies or fishing for one day at DVL for one big grumpy largemouth. $350 for $8K or $250 for $10K. Hmmm....either way its all good.

I could be wrong Brian, but I'm betting that there will be a lot of guys hoping that you choose to go to Havasu - so that you forfeit your Priority Entry spot into HBC-6 to the Open slots for a 1 in 50 shot at $10K.

Actually I was talking about the day before the tournament if you read it correctly. Butch did catch a giant on Casitas but it was not the day before like I was talking about. All you guys betting have to be in the HBC to collect your winnings and pay your losses. :)
