full deck converson
full deck converson
Does anyone have plans for converting a Ranger 393 to a full deck. Ranger informs me they no longer have the additional sealed compartments used in the past for this 1993 Ranger boat to make it a full deck. Thanks Ken
Re: full deck converson
Ken, I built my own deck extension on my 492VS for about $70. Ranger wanted $600. It's not hard to do...

492 slayer, You wouldn't happen to have some pictures of your work as it progressed. Ken

Re: full deck converson
How much more did the addition weigh 492? My boat is already slow, I guess I don't need a deck extension unless it's made out of carbon fiber lol

http://www.bassboatcentral.com/ go to this site and go to the bass boat restoration forum. Tons of guys have done deck extensions and have posted really good step by step photos of their work.

Here is what the old man and I did about a year ago now.

The old man is a retired carpenter / craftsmen so it only took a few days to do. If it were me doing it... it would have been more like a couple of weeks and lots of pain.
The boat is way fishable now over what it was and I no longer fall in the "hole" in the boat.
If you have any questions just ask or I'll give you the old mans number

Re: full deck converson
I'd say the deck extension added around 20-30lbs to the boat, but it also increased my deck area to almost a 4X8' area and I don't have to worry about falling in a hole anymore
