Minn Kota Composite Shaft Removal

Anyone know the correct way to remove the composite shft from the motor housing on a Minn Kota Maxxum? Mine cracked at the set screw holes on the top at the head. Thanks.

Jody, you have to heat the shaft area around the top of the motor (not to hot, or you will melt the composite shaft. Then unscrew the shaft (most of the time the threads on the shaft will be destroyed) any other questions just call me as I do not like to do lots of typing.
