Re: Tackle Warehouse UNBELIEVABLE!!
You think that's something.....
I live on the remote north coast of california and I often order rod building equipment from a company out of orlando florida. I've placed an order (that included a 8 ft rod blank) on a given morning, the package left their facility that afternoon, it arrives at my door exactly 44 hours 44minutes later!
Yeah tacklewarehouse might be quick about packing things up, but its FED EX you need to thank, they do it up right!

FedEx might be better for interstate shipping, but for intrastate, nothing beats UPS, except maybe going yourself if you are close enough and capable..

Re: Tackle Warehouse UNBELIEVABLE!!
BassMan,
I think the point in Keith's post is really about how you can get shipments in less than 48hrs, WITHOUT paying the high cost to FedEx overnight it, or pay express shipping. Fedex is great, but you pay for that in cost to ship.
Mac turned me on to this a while ago, because i have always waited to buy those "must have" baits and stuff at the last minute before a tourney.
If you are within the same zone as the store your buying from (say westcoast region) then UPS standard delivery (for $6.95) will get you your package next day, (yes, next day) without paying those $30 express or Fedex shipping costs. They dont tell you that and they dont guarantee it, but it has yet NOT to happen for me.
So, if my local store doesnt have what i want, and i gotta order online, i look for the local online retailers like Tackle Warehouse first. i can still get it next day, and avoid the express chargers for ordering stuff elsewhere.
GREAT!

PS - Mac, is there any way to identify what the "regions" are for UPS delivery?

+1 for Tackle Warehouse!
While it is the carrier that gets it to you, the folks at TW sure do everything they can to expedite the order and get it to the carrier for quick delivery. Case in point - I made an order mid-morning on Monday, and it was delivered yesterday morning. THANKS TACKLE WAREHOUSE!!!

Re: Tackle Warehouse UNBELIEVABLE!!
Yes Joe the regions can be identified..From the shipper a delivery to be made within an easy 6 hour drive is considered to be region 1 for instance and those requiring up to 12 hours driving time are considered Region 2 and so forth..Several years ago UPS Ground deliveries within region 1 and 2 of the shipper were made garanteed next day deliveries or the shipper would not have to pay shipping charges on any item not delivered on schedule..If you must have it early morning delivery, the best way to go is Next Day Air, garanteed delivery before 10AM, there is also a Next Day Air Saver that just means it will get there tomorrow, but not necessarily be delivered not later than 10AM local..Even with Next Day Air with UPS or FedEX there will sometimes be late deliveries or failure to be delivered on schedule..If you are paying the shipping charges, and don't get your merchandise on schedule, let the shipper know..You should not be charged for shipping on late deliveries and neither should the shipper..
By the way, the regions I listed are approximate, to get the actual regions you would need to contact UPS or refer to one of their shipping charts..

I placed an order online yesterday afternoon and when I reviewed the order this morning, I realized I ordered the wrong color Huddleston. So I called them and the guy I got on the phone told me the order was in "picking" so he had to go downstairs and physically make the change because the order was already being filled. Well he did, and shipped my order without delay... If I didnt make my own problems, I wouldn't have any!

I've been a UPS driver for 15 years and mac is right. All UPS services are garrented. Go to ups.com and you can get the regions. It will show you the shipping times from region to region. Those times are garrented or your money back. Now that tackle werehouse sells huds I no longer need any other tackle store.
P.S. if you guys are in the central coast area stop and see there new wharehouse its unbelivable. The TW guys will hook you up with anything you need.

I have had no problems with any of the on line stores..I have always received my order in rapid time..The only way to get better service is to go to the stores yourself and pick up the merchandise..

Basshunter4u;
Is absolutely right, as long as you try to get your orders ready to shipp. The shippers will take it from there.
They just do a fabulous job, and I too commend them for the fine job they are doing.
My UPS driver is also my best friend. I try to keep a cold bottle of water for him on the hot summer days.

Re: Tackle Warehouse UNBELIEVABLE!!
Well, I've had poor luck with a few tackle places- like paying for second day, but they take 2 days to process order so it's 4 day. Tackle Warehouse is still the only place I have total faith in. Gets to me next day every time.

Fed Ex is EXPENSIVE
Sent a letter to Japan Priority International, bill just came, 43$
USPS would have been $13.00
UPS is great for instate cali as well as Fed Ex ground but not as fast as UPS if shipping ground in california
Re: Tackle Warehouse UNBELIEVABLE!!
Like Basslayer, I have also worked for UPS for 23 years. All UPS services are guaranteed. If your shipment does not make it within the time frame that is posted on the web site, you should get the shipping charges refunded to you from the shipper. If you do not ask for it, you will not get it. I guarantee that the shipper is asking for a "Guaranteed Service Refund", or GSR for the shipment that do not make it in the guaranteed time. If you don't ask for it, the shipper just keeps the $$$$$$. Most shippers have employees who's jobs consist of tracking all of the shipments made with all of their carriers. Those that do not meet the guaranteed service are reported to the carrier, and a refund is issued to the shipper. If you don't call and request your refund, the shipper get refunded for the charges that you have already paid for and pockets it. Pretty good deal !
There are actually companies that will track all of your shipments for you and tell you how much $$ that you will get back on GSR's. They charge 10 % of all GSR's found................
