Bought my set in Oct. '03. They're still in there with no signs of letting up.

I recently switched over to the Gels and they are incredible.. more power longer.. always a plus. I was running the stock AC/DELCO before. The only battery I have seen come close to the Optimas were the Trojans, but the Optimas are maintenance free.

I switched to Optima Blue Tops the begining of the 2008 season. Best marine batteries I've used. They charge faster, and the power last longer. Last year at the WON Pleasant Pro/AM event, my on board charger quit. The Optima Blue Tops lasted two days of pre-fish and two days of the tourny without being charged. 4-days without being charged! Windy-bad weather too. Plus, they are lighter than other deep cycle batteries. I'm sold...

I have had the same set for over 4 years and would never have anything but Optima's!! I even went so far as to take them out of my old boat to put in my new one; they are the bomb!!!

I use them for my trolling motor and like the quicker recharge time. Also for my cranking battery but I think that's maybe a mistake. What is this 'higher cranking' one called?

All I need to get into the money would be the four I usually get along with a 20# kicker.

I think the blue tops are labeled dual purpose, and can be used for cranking, too. I use one for cranking, because the livewell and electronics both run off the cranking battery, and the bilge pump, too, and I want to be sure to have plenty of amps left to crank at the end of the day.
Not a problem so far, and I've been using them since '04.

Yep, nothin' but praise for Optima! Had 3 of the large-31 Series bluetops in my Triton since November '04, they've never given me any problems and I don't anticipate they ever will.

I have been looking around for the best price on three. $249 seems to be it. But another $60 off of three that sure helps. Thanks for the link. LEN

My Dual Pro charger works fine on them. Ranger Dealer installed, along with the Optimas, so I know they're compatible.
