During his last full day in office -- Pres. Bush commuted the sentences of these former Border Patrol agents.
They were convicted of violating Border Patrol policies in the non-fatal shooting of a drug smuggler in 2005 (In the rear-end). Ramos and Compean have already served two years in prison of a ten year sentence, primarily in solitary confinement with only a few minutes a month to talk on the phone with their wives and children. Most of their Border Patrol agents believe their firing at a fleeing drug smuggler/illegal alien did not come close to justifying jail time.
It is getting harder for Police and Agents to do their job because of Shlt like this!
Ramos & Compean had their sentences Commuted
Re: Ramos & Compean had their sentences Commuted
Yea, and Mr. Bush claims he's a conservative, and standing up for what's right. Yet, we still have a porous border, and crap like this happening after 8 years.

If Bush didn't commute their sentences I would have been very disappointed.

Uhm, first off, the men should have never been in jail in the first place, second off, they still are!!! He did not pardon them, they will have to stay 60 more days AND they will not have any of this struck from their records!!!!! They are convicted felons, period, the rest of their lives for doing their jobs!!!!!! NOw, does that make sense?Guyle wrote:Were you trying to make sense??
