Moon Phenomenon

Post by tunaman »

Anyone notice how bright the moon has been the last couple of nights? Last night, the moon was the closest it's been in the last 15 years, so it has appeared bigger and brighter than normal.

I took a couple of photos last night and tonight, trying to capture some of its effects.

Here is one from last night, when we also had some clouds moving through which gave an interesting effect:

Also, here's one from tonight revealing the incredible detail visible from my vantage point:

The were reporting very strong tidal influences also due to its close proximity.

I can tell you I spent the last couple nights fishing Clear Lake. I had the lake to myself. There were no clouds, no wind, the lake was the calmest Ive ever seen it. The moon was huge and bright. Shooting stars everywhere. I fish alot at night and I can tell you the last few nights have been a few of the most beautiful Ive ever seen. The last few nights have reminded me how lucky I am to live the life I live, and have reminded me of what the important things are in this world.
