current conditions at McClure
My club is supposed to fish McClure in December. How are the conditions now and the water levels? Do you think it will be fishable in December? Thanks for any help.

Check with Phil Hill (aka Jigs Retired) at JIGSTACKLE@AOL.COM. He's located not too far from the lake and has some information and insight on McCure and Don Pedro.
He posted some information for Mark Inman under the post of "Need info lake mcclure" a few days ago. You can scroll through the postings to see what he had to say.
Phil is sponsoring a big bass tournament on Don Pedro on November 29th.
Good luck in your tournament.

Thanks Norv !
Went and did a drive by yesterday. Can not see having a major tournament there or even thinking about it..The lake is down 169 ft.............Up river, what river. Get out your trout rod and if going there, think about fishing for trout..........Most bass are dinks, and schooling on huge schools of shad.............If you can get your bait thru them, ou may catch a keeper or two..
For my Money. Don Pedro or New Melones is your best bet......Why people don't go to New Melones is way beyond me....Don Pedro is the 5th largest in the state and New Melones is way larger than Don Pedro, yet less Bass pressure fishermen/women.........

Re: current conditions at McClure
Phil is right. Your club might want to look at Pedro or Melones. McClure is way down and even with some good storms in the next couple of months it might get to 50-60%. Big swimbait fish in Dec. are coming out of Pedro each year. Mike
