From what I have heard about Rosevelt you will be happy with the change. It is supposed to be a great fishery.

nojob, and cleb don't act like you wouldn't mind catching a limit every day.
Then again it does make it more interesting when one fish can make the difference in up to 20 spots or so.
Anyone know the driving distance to Roosevelt compared to Havasu, coming from northen cali?

Dang Chad, I was hoping you could experience a little Lake Mead wind next year. Roberto is ready for Shasta again. I thought we lost him in that weather this year. He is going to follow my advice a look more seriously at his foul weather gear.cleb19 wrote:Hope Havasu isnt taken off, that was a tough lake but a very fun fisherie and a even better city

I did hear that Payson, AZ. will be the Host City, rather than Globe, AZ and it's supposed to be like a 30 minute drive or so, from the Lake. It should be interesting, in a Stren Event, to work with a "Slot Limit".
It might be lonely at the Top, but it's a bitch, at the Bottom !
Re: 2009 FLW schedule
The slot limit should not really be an issue. Most of the fish caught now are either unders, or big slots that are just a hair under the limit. With a few overs. By April, it shouldn't be a problem bringing in a limit of overs. (hopefully) I think you all will enjoy Roosevelt.

Man a 30 minute drive every morning and evening! That's not too good. Are there any campgrounds near the lake? Won't they be able to get a waiver for the slot limit?
Re: 2009 FLW schedule
Hope LeBlank learns how to drive in that big water, although it was hilarious watching him try to avoid it at the won.Robert F wrote:Dang Chad, I was hoping you could experience a little Lake Mead wind next year. ROBERTO you better bring your lunch stepping up with the big dogs. U know what kind of people do that??? hahaha
Re: 2009 FLW schedule
There are several campgrounds run by the forest service, there are also a couple of little motels near the lake. The camping is dry camping but showers are available, bring you generators...
Another thing to consider is the National Forest Service controls the lake so there is a $10 fee to park and launch your boat. I know the drive stinks, but I will probably camp a few days and go home a few. It is almost a 2 hour drive for me. But, trust me, you will really like this Lake. No docks to fish though...

Re: 2009 FLW schedule
Night tournament saturday at Roosevelt had two 29# bags and one 26#. Five fish. Very nice campgrounds and hot showers.
Re: 2009 FLW schedule
Supposedly one of the 29# bags was caught in the first 2 hours. There are some toads in there. Of course I haven't found them... Ringer what are you going to do on this tournament, pro or co?
Re: 2009 FLW schedule
No idea yet. Maybe just camp out and watch from the boat.
Re: 2009 FLW schedule
Chris, From our place in Modesto, it is about 750 miles to Lake Rosevelt.
