TROJAN BATTERY
Apparently Trojan no longer makes the starting battery I have been using. What does anyone recommend?
W/Optimax....I'm advised to get 1000 cranking amps. Thoughts??

Re: Starting Battery
I think the Optimax requires 1000 MCA (marine cranking amps) or 750 CCA (cold cranking amps), this comes from Mercury. According to Trojans web site they have several that would work, then there A/C Delco, Optima's, Interstates the list goes on. You could always call Gene at the Hook and get his recomendation as well.

Re: Starting Battery
You'll get as many different suggestions as you will posts.
All the brands Dan mentioned are quality batts.
I would compare prices and warranties.
Good luck.

Re: Starting Battery
All that I know is I went to that Interstate XHD 1000MCA 850CCA earlier this year and one key bump and that engine is spinnin.
The battery I replaced was an AC Delco and she just wasnt thrown out enough CCA to spin the engine after a year and a half.
