I like the way the BBZ (floater) swims as a subtle wake bait. Maybe because I have"nt got bit, I am uncomfortable with the rattles. I am thinking of removing the "ball bearing" sounding balls and replacing them with some clay as not to throw fo the balance. Before I start sugery, has anybody got any advice ?
Drill motor in hand.

Re: SPRO BBZ QUESTION
I was thinking of removing the rubber tail then opening the last section with a drill or exacto. Then remove the rattles, spackle up the damage, then re-glue the tail to hide any imperfections.
Re: SPRO BBZ QUESTION
If you remove the rattles, you will still have noise coming from the hinges, squeaking mostly.
If you know someone that has neutered their BBZ, you may want to borrow it to see the noise difference.
Any bait with hinges is never going to be totally silent.

Re: SPRO BBZ QUESTION
If you want to fish it fast, the rattles/hinge noises just help, because it's pure reaction.
If you plan to fish it slow, I still think the noise is an attactor. There are plenty of other swimbaits without rattles.
