lowest Boat Insurance; Need help!

Post by Big Ed »

Can somebody please turn me on to a decent boat insurance company who isnt going to rape me?

Im lookin for a decent policy for my new 2007 Champion 200 DCX. I dont mind paying a high deductible to get a low premium. Who do you use?

Thanks for your help!

Call Stan at 1-800-BASSBOAT. Stan Vanderberg is a bass fisherman and understands what we need. I got quotes from others like Progressive, GMAC and Sawyer Cook and the best coverage for the money is 1-800-BASSBOAT bar none. They understand what you need coverage for whether you are a tournament angler or not.

Thanks guys;

So far this morning i have contacted AAA for a premium of $418.00 and Gayla cook for a premium of $459.00. I am waiting for a call back from 1-800-BASSBOAT. $300K coverage with approx $750.00 - $1000.00 deductible on a $40K total coverage.

So far it seems as though Gayla really understood what a bass boat policy really needs. She talked about coverage from a rear end on the highway, prop damage, lower end damage, electronics, rods & reels etc...

I need to find a reputable company asap.

Thank you for your help. If anybody can offer up some refferals i would appreciate it.

Gator, Ryan, John, Art :D Thank you!

Later; Big Ed!

Try Angler's Advantage. Great service, and price. Full coverage on the 03 Toon, $390, a year.

First of all nice boat. I got an 06 champ 187 and twin rivers marine insurance is covering me for 398 per year. The policy is actually assigned to ACE insurance in Chicago, while the policy is good I wonder how long it would take to settle a claim. Try the company that does your car or home insurance and sometimes they will come close or may try to match another quote and you already have an existing relationship with your agent. Bigger companies like State Farm, tend to solve things pretty quickly. Look at all the different options out there, and consider one that best suits your needs. Enjoy that nice Champ

Just be sure you are getting apples and apples quotes. Of the group you mentioned the two people I would pay attention to are Stan and Gayla. Chances are the other are just quoting insurance and don't understand your real needs. Don't fool yourself by buying something that won't work when you need to use it.

Sawyer is not the cheapest. If you want cheap it is Boat US. Havent had a claim to tell you how good they are that way but the price is a whole lot lower. I pay less than you number for a 2006 Z20

Insurance is different from state to state

Post by John Barron »

What can be covered in one state may not be able to covered in another. You have probably seen the Allstate commercial about rebate or reduction of insurance every 6 months without an accident. It does not apply in California. So to answer the question about Nevada you would have to call Stan or Gayla and ask.

Big Ed,
Boat U.S. specializes in Marine Insurance. Quick, free quotes online, too. They've been great to us!
