1 oz spinnerbaits

Post by edge »

I am looking for 1 oz spinnerbaits. Does anyone know who carries them and particular brands? I saw Nichols makes a 1.5 but I'd prefer 1 oz.

I know that revenge makes some, and another company that I cannot think of the name of right now.

Also Revenge makes some. But as far as I know only in the "Deep Runner" modles. The you can get them from tackle warehouse at www.tacklewarehouse.com Just go there and look in their spinnerpait section there might be more there then listed above!! I hope this helps!

That brand is Blade Runner Tackle made by Rick Teitz. I don't think they do online orders though. I know Hi's tackle Box in San Francisco carries the line. Maybe they will ship them to you.

Ben...you are correct. They were Ledgebusters and I've been looking for those too. I'm looking more for the 1-oz spinnerbaits for burning over flats and bait schools to get the smallies.

A lot of good baits have been mentioned though!

Thanks for the suggestion...I went to heavycover.com but they only list up to 3/4. I emailed and requested the 1 oz. so I'll have to wait and see.

Keep the suggestions coming...I'm finding some great baits and our smallie feed bag is just turning on for fall.

My first recommendation would be the Revenge Blades...don't be fooled by the Deep-Runner title...you can use these bait for burning and they run true too!!
Revenge Baits - click here

The Pepper Jigs Blades are also good blades too.
Pepper Jigs - click here

You can also look at at SOB Products. I was givin' these blades by a local down in Alabama when I was down there fishin' Pickwick for Smallies a couple of years back...pretty impressive bait...they also make a compact version called a "Mini-Me" but it only goes up to 3/4 oz...might want to give them a look
SOB Lures - click here

Haven't got to try the Jigs Spinnerbait yet, so I can speak for them...Sorry Phil :(

Cant go wrong with a Ledge Buster. They are made in colorado and willow blades, different colors, and go all the way up to 1-1/2 oz.

Agner! What up Knee...... nahh... lol Make sure you don't leave your Ledgebuster's out in the sun, the skirt will fall off. For quality, look at Gann's own version of the ledgebuster. Complete with a rattle, quality blade, titanium arm, and realistic paint... They are HAND TIED, as opposed to some surgical pooping, oops, I mean tubing...

And that- Is the deal Folks!

JIGS;
SNAKEBITE SPINNERBAITS
HAND TIED, STAINLESS STEEL WIRE, ROUND RUBBER AND SILICON MIX SKIRTS DO NOT FALL OFF. LAZER SHARP HOOKS 4/0 TO 6/0 YOUR CHOICE !! NO RATTLES, NO TITANIUM, WE HAVE FOUND ALOT OF TITANIUM WIRE SPINNERBAITS AND BUZZBAITS TO BREAK, NOT BEND IF NEEDED BUT JUST PLAIN BREAK AND YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR FISH, THEY VIBRATE GREAT, BUT THEY WILL BREAK IN TIME.
GANNS IS A GOOD BLADE AND A GREAT JIG WE WILL ALWAYS ADMIT, THERE ARE SO SO MANY GOOD PRODUCTS OUT THERE, YOU CAN NOT COMPETE SO JUST GO OUT AND BUY THE TACKLE OF YOUR CHOICE AND BE OPEN MINDED .
THANK YOU JIGS

Palmer, you know im not too concerned with my ledgebuster wasting away in the sun. It never sees the light of day! Thats my nighttime bait. with the amount of rocks i cast that thing into in the darkness, the sun and moon light is the least of its worries.

For 1 ounce spinnerbaits I use

- Markey's http://www.basscatcher.com/thor.html
- Revenge Deep Runner http://www.basstackledepot.com/mm5/merc ... gory_Code=
- Blade Runner

I haven't seen Jigs' Snakebites yet but, I will check them out soon.

DM spinnerbaits are very nice as well. I have only played with the 3/4 ounce model but, they are made very well.

just my .02

For quality, look at Gann's own version of the ledgebuster. ( We're talking about two completely different animals here :D ) Complete with a rattle, quality blade, titanium arm, and realistic paint... They are HAND TIED

Not to mention WAY, WAY more vibration. If you're looking for a spinnerbait that just flat out THUMPS Ganns is the way to go

Hey Snap, Thanks for the support, but for the record, Ganns are .035 stainless wire, Gami hooks, Jewelery grade blades, and hand tied skirts. We do install an arm rattle on our night series black nickle colorado baits in size #7 and they really really thump!!! We build them from 3/8oz up to 1 oz.
Jigs is right, titanium wires sound great, but they haven't proven out that well.

Again, thanks for the support, you still have to decide what you want :)

WE HAVE SOME SNAKEBITE SPINNERBAITS HEADED OUT TO GARY COLLINS, WE HAVE SOME 1 OZ IN PROGRESS GOING OUT TO CANADA FOR SMALLIES , WE HAVE SOME 5/8 OZ GOING OUT TO ROD MARTIN ALL CHARTREUSE, CHARTREUSE BLADES, BUT HONESTLY FOR DEEP RUNNERS, YOU WILL WANT OUR 1 1/4 OZ AT THE VERY LEAST, WE CAN INSTALL SMALLER BLADES IF YOU WANT TO BURN THEM !! GANNS IS A GREAT PRODUCT UP 1/2 TO 1 OZ ..
WE HAVE NOT TRIED THEM SINCE THEY HAVE A NEW OWNER NOW; I AM SURE THEY ARE STILL QUALITY PRODUCT..........
ONE OTHER THING TO MENTION IS; OUR SPINNER BAITS COME IN 1/4 OZ TO 2 OZ : WE HERE ALOT ABOUT SPINNERBAITS BREAKING AT THE HOOK OR THE WIRE COMING OUT OF THE HEAD AND LOSING FISH ETC. IT HAS HAPPENED TO SOME OF OURS IN THE PAST YEARS; MOST SPINNERBAITS THE WIRE HAS A SMALL LOOP AND FITS INTO THE HOOK EYE, THEN HOT LEAD IT POURED OVER IT ALL TO BOND IT; YES IT CAN COME APART. CURRENTLY SNAKEBITE SPINNERBAITS ARE SILVER SOLDERED WIRE TO EYE, STRONGER THAN LEAD OR SOLDER, THEN PUT INTO MOLD AND LEAD HEAD IS POURED AROUND THE HOOK AND WIRE. A MUCH MORE SECURE BOND BETWEEN HOOK AND WIRE. STAINLESS WIRE IS USED, STAINLESS MUSTAD LAZER SHARP HOOKS ARE USED. ONLY POLISHED TIN BLADES ARE USED OR BRASS. WE WILL DIP FOR COLOR CHANGES; WE DO NOT USE CHROME BLADES. ALL ARE MADE WITH BALL BEARING SWIVELS WITH A SNAP, SO YOU CAN CHANGE BLADES IF YOU WISH. SOUNDS LIKE AN ADD I'M SURE. BUT SINCE THERE IS NO PRICE MENTIONED I GUESS THIS IS NOT SELLING ON THE FORUM ????????? HUH GATOR ????

(THE PROCESS IS SLOW , SO WE DO NOT DO THIS FOR A LIVING, IT IS PART OF JIGS BAIT & TACKLE, AND WHEN WE RETIRE, WE WILL KEEP MAKING THEM FOR A HOBBY AND FUN, ALWAYS TRYING SOMETHING NEW, LIKE OUR NEW BENT TWICE WIRE 90 DEGREES)
OF TRIPLE BLADE SPINNERBAITS; LOTS HAVE TRIED, OUR WORKS)!

THANKS MARK AND GANN'S BAITS FOR THE RECOGNITION

JIGS
