327 pounds - if Sieggy and Mac can wiegh in their specialty catfish over all four sessions!!

I am predicting 33 pounds - or an 11 lb. per session average. Of course, I plan to weigh 20 pounds in both Sessions on Saturday and just take the Sunday session easy, maybe go Crappie fishin!!

We also need to ask for NumbNut predictions. My initial list of possible suspects is BassTraveler, HubSpinner, sTony, Angel and Mr. Bonham. This list may grow as the weekend gets closer!!

I will go out there and say it 40lbs takes this one down.

Predictions for Numbnut - HubSpinner, Coochie coochie coo, and Myself - something tells me I may be a lock in for the numbnut as this is my first rally and I am riding up with Brian - Backseat- Day.

Predictions for the guy who diserves NumbNut but wont get it Lee "Thread Nazi" Hines - just for having that mustache.

Guess who just got added to the Pre-registration for the NumbNut award.....SOCB. You guys gotta learn, don't mess with one of the three guys who have a say on the awarding of the precious numbnut.

Big Nut Record Could Fall

Post by Wolfeman »

This might be the year that the Big Nut record falls, what with all of you guys morgaging your kids college education for some of those Shell Cracker baits. :o

My memory is a little vague on some of the details but I'm sure some of the old timers can correct me and fill in the blanks.
I remember that it was one of the early rallys, maybe the first one, our of Anchorage Inn.
I think the kid's name was Chris, his Dad was Terry Christianson (I think). He was 13 or 14 and caught a hawg that I think went in excess of 13 pounds. He was fishing with Stickbait and was using a 'custom' jig that Stickbait gave him. I know at the time that it was the biggest bass caught in any Rally in the US. Probably still is.

Gentleman, start your swimbaits.

Gator,

I you sing, then you will receive the "Numbnut Award" for SURE. The other factor if NOT, would be if Coochie does the "Pole Dance" after a case of Red Bull sing'in Wadda, Wadda, Wadda.

Could go higher if the afternoon session Saturday is productive. Nothing that will touch the record for Big Nut though. We might see some Numb Nut records fall with Coochie in attendance.

Hey Sieg - You up for a side bet for biggest crappie. I figure we will be done bass fishing Saturday morning at about 8:00am. Will need something to do the rest of the morning session.

Cooch - Is that 2# short by your eye or a scale? If'n its your eye, they will win by 3#. BBWWAAHHH!!!

I'll be lucky to catch 25# myself.

Let's hear it. Quit whining that there is no smack unless you have some to dish out yourself. :P

PS - What time we starting the night tournament on Thursday? I may not be up till 8:00. Let's at least get a weight in time set in advance.

Sounds like the wife and kids are staying home, so I might even be up for a poker lession. It sure looks like a fun game. Will I need more than $100?

With all these "name" sticks that will be in attendance, I find it odd that the new TopNut will be backseater from Folsom (of all places)

Hmmm...Isn't it true that the topnut gets to choose the location of the Winter Rally?

Now that I almost have jigs figured out, I expect to catch a full limit for the first time at a Rally..With a lot of luck, I might even weigh enough to win top nut honors..Now Gator mentioned a big weight for catfish..Now all he will catch are those whiskered demons..A person can hope can't they..

I tell ya what Kenji - if that freakin tin rocket looks like it did at the last Rally you attended, we'll need our sunglasses before daylight!! Sheesh that thing had a SHINE!! I was just out riggin rods.....gonna be leavin EARLY Thursday morning so I can fish most of the day. Then get back in around dinner time to check in and start the BS sessions with all the early arrivals!! And whiskerfish are not on my menu, but if I catch one I will damn sure bring it in. If it will fit in the livewells with the three 8 pounders I plan to bring in each session!!

Alrighty then, rule of thumb is if you can bring in eight pounds per session you'll finish top ten. The bite might be a bit tougher then most figure it to be but this hot weather might turn that around. I think the angler that can average 10 pounds per session will win.

Personally I'm looking for six 5 pounders and the win baby!

Man, a whole bunch of dreamers and schemers..If I catch a fish, I will consider myself fortunate..If I catch six of them, then I just might start thinking I am good at this game..In any case, 36 pounds is gonna be what it takes to walk away with the Top Nut title..I just hope I ain't the "Bottom Nut" again..
