FOLSOM BASS LEAGUE SEASON ENDS WITH EXCITEMENT!!!!!

Post by Scott Shambre »

The 2006-07 FOLSOM BASS LEAGUE season ended with huge weights, a new big fish for the season and the crowning of the Anglers-Of-The-Year.

Taking first place was the Folsom powerhouse team of Chris VanClef and William Wright with an astonishing 26.26 lbs. of Folsom Bass. This huge sack was anchored by a 9.44 lb. bruiser that took over for the big fish of the year and earned Chris the trip to El Salto, Mexico courtsey of Hook Adventure Travel and the Anglers Inn on Lake El Salto. There was no big secret as Chris and William said that they were throwing a variety of swimbaits to catch their fish. For the win they earned $1280 plus another $500 for big fish totalling $1780 and the El Salto package. valued at $1999.

Second place went to another Folsom team that usually finds themselves cashing check, barry Davis and Ben Rambeaut. while they didn't have a real big fish in their bag, they had a limit of clones weighing in at 20.60 lbs. and cashing a check for $800 for the day.

Adam Perry, fishing by himself, captured third place with 19.68 lbs. and a check for $600 mainly by sight fishing Folsom. By finishing in 3rd place, Adam also earned 108 points towards Angler-Of-The-Year for a total of 711 on the year.

The AOY race was very tight going into the last event and the standing proved it would come right down to the wire. Mike VanWagner and Justin Nelson needed a good day to finish out the season where they have been leading in the points for the last 3 events. Weighing in 14.68 lbs. on the day placed them in 12th place (99 pts.) for a total of 712 points on the year, WINNING THE ANGLER-OF-THE-YEAR BY ONE POINT!!!!!!!!

Congrats go out to all of our prize winners today and a huge thank you for to all of the anglers and sponsors of the FOLSOM BASS LEAGUE this season. Without the support of these people, we could be here doing what we do for the anglers. Thnaks for another memorable season and we look forwqard to seeing everyone out next year.

Scott and crew, you all run a fine show! Your events are excellent and worth driving over 100 miles each way to fish. Winning the trip was a huge bonus, unexpected and we thank you for having that kind of added incentive to the anglers who fish your events.

William and I rarely get to fish together anymore, the living 100 miles apart doesn't help, but when we do things always seem to happen in a big way. This was a great day with an old friend and to experience the fish that we did was the cake and winning the tournament was the icing! Love them Folsom fishies!

Thanks again and we'll see ya down the road!

Congratulations on a job well done. This was the first weigh in I have ever attended and it was really fun. Ran into an old buddy and we had a ball watching the fish come in. Wish I had taken my lawn chair as 39 boats is a lot to watch while standing up. I was their to root for Damon so it was nice to talk to him for a minute as well.

Anyway, looking forward to the next round.
