fished the delta over the weekend with a few fellow wb heads and had a good time both days..caught fish on various lures in different areas but most were what looked to be males. My question is....during the post spawn is it best to target areas close to spawning grounds that are maybe a little deeper with transition? or do the females on the delta just pack their bags and mobilize?
appreciate any help
post spawn
Re: post spawn
The females are up now.........Some are prespawn, most are on beds now cuz of the full moon, and some have already spawned out. Get out there on a real low tide and check it out. It is on......If you want to target post spawners, find deeper water adjacent to spawning islands, tules, and flats. The post spawners will be there recuperating and sometimes eating. Also edges of sparse tullies on spawning flats. They somewhat like current too....
