Palm Springs bassin'

Post by jazzwannabe »

Besides Cahuilla Lake, are there any places in the immediate Palm Springs area where a guy could do some bass fishing? There are a million golf courses, but they're probably off-limits. Any exceptions?

I know about DV, Perris, etc. on the other side of the mountains — I'm hoping to find something in the Palm Springs area without making much of a drive.

Grand Champions Golf Course - There is security at night but who's afraid of an 80 year old man in a golf cart?

Ck Lake Tamarisk @ Desert Center..............But if you're this desperate----you might as well go to DV or The back way (launch Ca.) to Martinez.

Hemet Lake. It is a mountain lake loaded with trout, but also has a good to very good LM population. One of the fish shown in the recent BassMaster issue about giant bass was caught there. Highway up out of Palm Springs toward Idlewild. You didn't mention whether you had a boat available. Shore fishing at Hemet may still be limited to one side of the lake. Have caught bass exceeding five pounds from shore there. Richard - Sonora

Yeah, fishing from shore — I don't have a boat.

Thanks, everyone. Any other ideas?
