New to Manteca Area

Post by Fisholic »

I'm new to Manteca area. I've moved up here in May of last year. I was wondering any good ponds or lakes that I can fish for bass around here.

I seen the small lake off of I5 near the San Joaquin River. Where they hold the jetski competition at during the summer time. Can that be fished? I've only seen one person fished that small lake when I was passing by.

Thanks

The S delta is right there in your back yard. There are also foothill lakes a short drive away. The fishing on both can be great.

You can launch right there at Mossdale and fish in either direction. Going north will take you to the turning basin in Stockton and the entire delta.
If you want to hit the lakes you are about forty five minutes from Don Pedro and McClure and an hour from New Melones which are all great fisheries.
Three hours north you have Clear Lake which is off the hook right now and an hour to the north/west you have Berryessa.
Manteca is the the perfect location to get to all of the great mid Cal fisheries!

All the lakes should be pre-spawn to spawn stage right now and all of them can produce thirty pound bags with a double digit at any time.

Check with the guys at Fishermans Warehouse for specific baits for each body of water and they wont lead you astray!

Good luck!
