Multi-Rig (No More SNAGS)

Post by Sinjin Kim »

This rig enables anglers to fish plastics of their choice (esp. DT Hula Grubs) with various types of jigheads with the utmost confidence their rig will not get hung up.

Further, it gives the plastics a very natural presentation and will not tilt to its side.

I'm saying NA on this rig. It' more difficult to rig then a texas rig with a pegged weight and its not as weedless. Also it's not really any different then using a weighted hook or a Muststad power lock weighted hook.

With a little getting used to, preparing this rig is quick and simple.
Shaky Heads and T-Rigs will always be in my arsenal, but when the bite is tough and need that key bite, I am sure the Multi-Rig will have an advantage because both the tail and head segments of the plastics "shake" and "wiggle" with the slightest twitch (something a shaky head and T-Rig) can't accomplish.

As for Falcon type hooks being the same as the Multi-Rig, a Falcon Hook used with plastics will tilt over, noe heavy enough, and the position of the eye of the hook won't allow for a proper presentation.

Give it a shot.

Thanks for posting the information about the multi-rig. This is the first time I have seen this concept. You might be right about it being a different presentation, but the difference is subtle.

Sinjin,
Do you fish these rigs on baitcasters or spinning tackle?
I was wondering how that rig would cast.

Thanks Sinjin, It's always cool to see new rigs. I can see where it's something different in the action to a having a bullet head.

For the lighter stuff (light round jigheads w/ Roboworm, Trick Worms etc.), I use spinning tackle; whereas with DT Hula Grubs and other larger profiled plastics, I would suggest using an arkie or football head and heavier bait casting tackle (10#).

I'll pass. Looks like a low percentage way of getting hook ups. But maybe I'm looking at it wrong. Sorry for the negative post on it.
