Motorguide X5 Problems

I bought a new Motorguide x5 in October 2015 and its now sticking where the retractable pins seat into the locked position. That is the larger of the two problems I'm having with it. The other is the foot speed dial is so tight, I can't turn it with my foot. Any remedies or at least similar problems people have had with Motorgude X5's? See photo's
