Maxima line?
After all this mess with High Dollar Lines, I think I am through this hype. I am stuck on making the final decision if I should respool all mono reels with Maxima Ultragreen.
I currently have 3 reels spooled with Maxima ultragreen. I tried it yesterday and everything seem great. Casting, pitching, landing 5 and 6 pound fish, no isses so far.
I was told that this line was a bad choice and I should go with Suffix Elite. I am also thinking to go back to CXX.. I just want a mono that is reliable!

Re: Maxima line?
CXX is about as reliable as they come, although don't quote me, but I believe maxima has a smaller diameter.. at least for floro's.

Re: Maxima line?
You cant go wrong with Maxima. I use their light line all the time. For heavier stuff over 8lb I use Big Game or Berkley 100% floro.
Fishing should be fun.
Maxima line is my GO-TO!!
Max is all I've fished for the past 4 years and I don't ever think I'll change. Use only the Green in 4-25lb tests, but the norm is 10 and 12. 12 lb Max and a Jig is just heaven!!

My .02:
I tried everything before making the decision to stay with Maxima. I truly believe that their shade of green is by far more invisible in the water (even the ultra clear Lake Mead). Their 6# is the strongest I have ever used. I started with McCoy (very soft, great for casting, too much stretch, not very abrassive resistant), Trilene Big Game (great for the price, shade of green is too dark for me, too much memory), P-line (extremely strong, way too much memory, very thick), and then Maxima....Found my perfect fit!! I love their fluoro too...

Maxima is my go to line too. In the last two years I've switch to braid with a mono leader and Maxima is the only line I use for my leaders. I believe the 6lb line for my DS leader is the strongest out there.

Max will spoil you. After fishing Max if you try to switch to other lines (6-8 lb) you will break off fish. I have tried all the expensive flouro lines and keep going back to Max for finesse fishing. It is tough stuff.

Re: Maxima line is my GO-TO!!
I have to agree with Becker and the other guys.
Maxima is the only line I have used for the last 8 years. Tried PLine way to much memory Big Game is just ok.
Stay with the Max and you will be happy.

First one in the box settles the nerves!
Re: Maxima line is my GO-TO!!
hands down Maxima Ultra Green is the best. I've got Bulk spools of the stuff and use nothing else with Mono. I agree that Pline has WAY too much memory. I use like from 4lb at Castaic on tough bites to the 25lb for swimmers. NONE lets me down. I use two lines and that is all...
Sugoi for my Flouro
Maxima Ultragreen for Mono
Nothing stronger...I swear by the Green!
