I've been using a Lucky Craft Flash Minnow 130MR and it's suppose to suspend when I stop cranking. Now it sinks like a rock. I know it's probably got water in it. Of course, the action on it is totally screwed.
Anyone else encounter this problem? Is there any way to fix it or does the lure go into the $$$ junk pile?

Burke,
I think you drew the needle of the haystack! Those Lures are super! I have one I have been fishing every summer the last 5 years. It's faded, beaten, twisted, everything. All I do is replace the rings and hooks.
I thing I remember some LC Staff saying send it back. But if your considering not tho go with LC baits or this model, Don't do it!

Check for water in the bait, sure, but "suspending" baits react differently at different water temperatures.
Water temperature affects the density of the water, so each bait will suspend, float or sink as the water temperatures change.

Re: Lucky Craft Flash Minnow 130MR Problem
I love LC lures and will continue to use them.
I was on the water on Monday (water temp 61+) and has used the 130 most of the day without any problems. I caught a couple of bass and a striper on it. Really didn't notice any problem until I birdnested. After I cleared it, I was retrieving the lure and it felt funny. I did a couple of tests in the water near the boat and noticed the sinking.

hey burk you have to remember that when you backlash and the lure hits the water to hard it can crack and if you hit rocks check it or if you hit anything it will explode or crack. Thats the bad thing about these baits.

Buy another one that will suspend. And return the sinker, for a replacement if it's not abused. Or use the sinker for a deep running bait if it will work, add more weight to it and tune it up. Might just be the ticket.
