I think that it comes with a heavy-duty snap to throw it with. i know that the shellcracker does. If it does, then throw it with the snap, and if not, I'd either buy a large snap, ar tie direct. I have yet to try the bait, but others who have wil tell you how they throw it.

Good luck!

I received my Plunker directly from Jeremy, it came with a split ring on it and I indeed used that as is up until today. For some reason, 3 times on Thursday, Friday and twice today, my Plunker got left stranded out in the middle of a tulle grove all by itself as I was retrieving it. Thank God fer HIGH BYPASS! At first I thought maybe I had popped the knott and had a bad section in my braided line. Come to find out today, nothing wrong with the braid at all, the line was not breaking, but in fact due to the violent retrieve I use, the line was slipping through the split ring.

I took the O ring off and tied direct to the bait, worked just as well and I never left that Plunker standing alone after that point.

Cooch,
You are right , it used to happen to me all the time when fishing braid direct to a splitring. Your right, it slips through the splitring all day long. I havnt had the problem anylonger. I run a 4 ft 30 # mono leader on that style bait. Works great im sure you know.
Its a funny feeling making a cast over a sweet spot , working it 20 ft and have it come off your line  and then get blown on ! Costly mistake !!! Have fun up there guys !

P.s you guys should walk the R2S rover 230 9 ". Its so easy to walk ! Its an awesome bait !!!

BTW, I left a Hud there last year doing the same, throwing braid and getting a backlash. I never saw $40 fly through the air so fast. Next time, you go in commando, maybe you could grab it for me. It is approx. 50 yards north/east of the main pier in the deep cove.....LOL :D :D :D PS- I will never throw big swimbaits on braid again (If I am casting them).

I saved Luke's Dead/Alive on the same swim -- just a cove over- he was snagged in some preaty knarly undergrowth.

I felt around there fora quick spell- I was AMAZED at the amount of piles of 1" rock they have placed in different places --- spaced out far and deep enoufgh that not all underwater weeds grow togther/interwined in masses.

Really cool !
