Large chatterbait blades?

Post by 185vsfrog »

Anybody know where I could get a hold of some oversized chatterbait blades, preferably in gold color. Just the blades would be great and I could make them up from scratch. Thanks.

Smash a big colorado brass blade flat, trace the regular chatterbait blade outline and hole pattern on it, add some on the sides and top, and cut it out. Be careful not to drill the holes too close to each other, or to the edge, since most blades are made of brass, and aren't as strong as the stainless that the chatterbait blades are made from. You may have to experiment to get the best shape, so start bigger than you think is right, and trim it 'till it works. Taller blades vibrate more wildly.

You can find the big bladed 1 ounce musky chatterbait on usacproshop.net or basstackledepot.com . They are sold undressed. You would either add a swimbait or skirt to them.

They are been being used by plenty in the delta and clear lake

Or lastly you can call Oroville Outdoors 800 591 7171 they have them.
