Lake Tulloch

Post by Joe W. »

Anyone been here lately? Going tomorrow night and fishing until Saturday. What's the bite been like? I've never fished this lake so any info is helpful. I checked the reports page but nothing posted since May. Thanks!

i had gone to Melones last week and they have been dropping it a lot. The bank was wet 2 or 3 feet the bank. So tulloch is either filling up fast or they are letting it out real fast. I don't know how it will effect the fishing. I took the family to tulloch on fathers day weekend and it cost us $25 to fish overnight just a heads up.

Our club fished there last month ... out of 15 guys, there was only 2 limits and they were in the same boat. See here. This was a night tournament also.

During the day, it's crazy ... water skiiers everywhere (including inside the 5MPH zone). Parking was a problem also. Personally, I'd go to Melones, McClure ... or better yet, the delta or Clear Lake!!

Just a question for ya since I've never been to Tulloch. Where the heck is the law enforcement when all these wakeboarders are doing their thing in the 5 mph zone?!!! Wow, this kind of relates to the other thread about their attitude in thinking they are exceptions to the rules. Disgusting. $25 to be on the lake, and nobody out there to enforce rules? Robbery!!!

'm meeting people up there and they are already there so I'm stuck going to Tulloch. This doesn't sound good though.

Tulloch I think is $8 for day use for a vehicle and boat.
A camp spot is about $20-$30 a night depending on your site.

That place is a zoo on the weekend. Your best bet is to fish the docks since there shouldn't be any wakeboarding going on in there. Black Creek is 5 mph so you might find some peace in there but there will be an occasional boat load of idiots wakeboarding in there.

The other side of the bridge is 5 mph so you might give it a shot. I haven't done well there but there's got to be fish.

Bring binoculars prividing the little lady ain't with ya.

The fishing must have been super tuff that night.
Fishing is at night is usually pretty decent.

I like to throw alot brownish, greenish, goldish colored gitzits (day or night).

If the fishing is real tuff throw a 4" worm on a light carolina rig.

If the fishing sucks just hang out at the boat ramp and enjoy the scenery  .

The one bad thing about that lake is that there isn't many places to just kick it on the bank, swim and drink a cold beer or 12.

We are staying at the resort so I think we'll have places to kick back. If the lake is crowded, I'll just chill at the pool. haha.

If the fishing is slow and the waves are to much , You may want to try some after dark fishing.

I already went to Tulloch. It was fun, fishing wasn't on fire but there were plenty of small fish keeping us busy. I was there from Thursday night until mid day Saturday. It was getting crazy on Saturday and I'm glad we were out of there. My advise to anyone going there soon is fish topwater early and be off the water by 9am. Then go back out and throw topwater baits again just before dark.
