Has anyone fished this lake recently or on a regular basis? I will be up near Mt Shasta at the end of March and only have information from the 'Fishing in Northers California' book which is 20 years old now. The book says the lake has LM, SM and spots but I would guess that the spots have probably taken over by now.
Is it worth it to haul my boat up from Sac or is the shore fishing good enough at that time of year to do without? Is it a rock pile lake or a points and creek inflows type of lake? Are the bass even worth trying for at that time of year as opposed to going for the big trout which are said to inhabit the lake?
If I take the boat does anyone know the launch fee? Is the ramp good or questionable?
Lots of questions but I hope some of you have answers so I can get my nephew on fish. He is not picky as to species so long as the bites are frequent. He loved Oroville at the end of March last year with him and another novice angler able to catch over a dozen each on wacky senkos each day.
Thanks in advance.
Lake Siskiyou
Re: Lake Siskiyou
The only boat ramp that i know of is in Lake Siskiyou campground. I think its about 8-10$. There is a 5mph speed limit on the whole lake. Its a small lake. Ive only ever caught small mouth in it. Very pretty right now but Mt.Shasta has a bunch of snow and the campground maybe closed. I would call first
