Lake Mead in Nov/Dec

Post by knight »

Just a quick question. I'm going on vacation next week to LV and want to fish Mead. Just taking very few baits and fish one day probably from a ski. Any areas near the marina at Boulder, the Islands nearby or coves near that area will help. I don't want to get lost. What baits, colors, depth? Thanks in advance for any info.

I fish down in southern utah a lot, and have done decent at mead. The fish are hard to find sometimes. The best thing to do is just cover a lot of water. I would use spinnerbaits. In classic shad colors, white is always good. Probably hands down the best bait to throw at mead. If you can find some grass or brush, and start hucking you might pick up a few. If after a few hours and still nothing try slipping out to the 30 ft range and see if you can get that spinnerbait down that far. Good luck! Curious to know how you do.

If you can I would try to get down to havasu, which is relatively close to vegas. I had a lot of fun fishing that lake this year.
