Alert! Stay out of the Las Vegas wash June 20-22, 2023.
The Southern Nevada Water Authority is conducting intermittent low-flow and high-flow events in the Lower Wash (downstream of Northshore Road) next week on June 20-22. Throughout each day for multiple times per day water will be held back and then released, creating a series of low water and higher flow events.
During the low flow events sand bars, rocks, or weirs may become exposed and look inviting to walk onto. These could then become submerged when the water is released.
We recommend enjoying the wash from afar on these days, staying on trails that keep you on higher ground.
