June bug color

Post by Gimpy »

Going though some old tackle I found I have some 30 jigs in June Bug as well as several tubes and creature baits. It occurs to me I still have these since I don't really know the right time to be throwing them. I think I recall them being a good fall color but am not sure.. Any ideas?? If I paid for them, it seems I ought to at least use the once in a while.

Junebug works great for me on any overcast day, or early morning when the sun is low.

I like Junebug in stained water, especially early Spring like Feb and March on the delta. It's the first color i reach for.

Crawdads change colors during different seasons and for lack of a better word, molts.

I was told they turn blueish when the water is cold and the dissolved oxygen decreaces.

In the spring a pale green with maybe and orange edge.

and toward summer red and brown.

You want a color that works in stained or clear water go with
Brown/grn pumpkin pepper/junebug - jig There are several types of sour grape trailers you can add the this bait.
