Duh, guess I should have a gave that a little more thought before posting.Oldschool wrote:Yes, they are called International Game Fish Association world records.
It definitely looks like a world record fish and a lot more credible than George Perry's fish that we do not have a picture of. But being so close to the record of 22 lb 4oz. I have a feeling that the IGFA will want to weight it again in their presence and by that time.......Dan McKenzie wrote:Smells fishy to me. Lake Biwa with no history of producing large fish kicks out a 22 lber? we'll see.
Here ya go:Thunnus Salmoides wrote: It definitely looks like a world record fish and a lot more credible than George Perry's fish that we do not have a picture of.
I could be wrong but according to BassMasters that was another fish that he caught. Now I have to go look up back issues.tunaman wrote:Here ya go:Thunnus Salmoides wrote: It definitely looks like a world record fish and a lot more credible than George Perry's fish that we do not have a picture of.
This picture maybe? Looks allot alike..Robert F wrote:I have seen a lot of this guy's reports. The picture looks just like one I saw posted almost a year ago. They catch some big fish there. They also have little regard for sportsmanship. When you have no problem with trespassing and poaching you would have no problem putting aside any rules of fair catch in obtaining a World Record.
The first anyone has stated the photo was the Perry bass. Read Perry's own account of his catch and he stated it was raining and we didn't get back to town until after it was dark. We, Perry and his fishing partner, took the fish to the post office to get it weighed. The Perry clan must of waited until the next day, a sunny afternoon, to clean the bass.Otay Michael wrote:That shot WAS of the WR, held by a neighbor and his kid before teh Perry clan ate it. Look at it's size, a dead giveaway. There are no shots of Perry with though, true enough.
S. Bailey wrote:A friend of a good friend of mine in Japan actually saw the fish, dead. Its def legit. There is a group of trophy hunters out in Japan that say there are bigger fish then that in this lake.

Live bait?, awesome fish!!!!!bassenvy wrote:Manabu Kurita is a known stick who's sponsored by Deps...still no info as to what the fish was caught on.
Otay is right, the rest of you are wrong. That is the pic of Perry's fish.Otay Michael wrote:That shot WAS of the WR, held by a neighbor and his kid before teh Perry clan ate it. Look at it's size, a dead giveaway. There are no shots of Perry with though, true enough.

i bet if live bluegill and trout where allowed in California the record would be blown away.Guy Williams wrote:Live bait, way to go!!

I always thought it would come on a live crawdad but the mussel issue seems to have put an end to that possibility.smpboy wrote:i bet if live bluegill and trout where allowed in California the record would be blown away.Guy Williams wrote:Live bait, way to go!!

SMP rumors abound of unethical anglers using live trout and bluegill and the record has yet to be broken in CA.....smpboy wrote:i bet if live bluegill and trout where allowed in California the record would be blown away.Guy Williams wrote:Live bait, way to go!!

Exactly...I think of any live baits that the crawdad is the bait to catch the biggest bass. All my live bait double digits have been on 'dads and a bunch of nice 8-9#'s on waterdogs and mudsuckers in the days back.Jevans wrote:I always thought it would come on a live crawdad but the mussel issue seems to have put an end to that possibility.smpboy wrote:i bet if live bluegill and trout where allowed in California the record would be blown away.Guy Williams wrote:Live bait, way to go!!
