I use braid on about 50% of my rods and I will only use the double palomar knot. I "never" have by knot slip or break with this knot.

1. Double the line through your Bobby D's jig :D
2. Make a over hand knot just like your tying your shoes but go through the loop twice.
3. Put the bait through the loop.
4. Pull the slack out of the main line, and then the tag end.
5. Cut the tag end off at about 3/8"
6. Go fish!

Here's a link to a neat animated knot page. It only shows the standard Palomar with a single "overhand", but from Mike's description it sounds like you just do the "overhand" part twice then pass the looped end over the lure. Hope that helps!

Well now I'm confused as I remember seeing a dbl palomar where you go through the eye of the hook twice and then tie the single overhand knot.

Has anyone tried both the dbl overhand and the dbl through the eye of the hook? If so, which one performed the best?

Does anyone know how to tie the knot Dee Thomas uses on braid? He described it when he spoke to our club last year but I couldn't hear everything he said as I was stuck in the back of the room. What I did hear is that it was the combination of two types of knots that he came up with through trial and error.

The one Dee uses sucks! I tried it for a while, but it is too big and bulky and harder to tie and it has 3 tag ends  The one I decribed is way more user friendly :D

Besides....What does Dee know???? Didn't he just start fishing a few years ago?? :P
