I will be going over the Memorial day weekend camping. I have never fished this lake and any help would be seriously appreciated. Scott

I fished it a few times. Great trout fishing but only a few bass.
Best bet is to drive up the street and fish McClure.

Scott,
If your looking for bass forget fishing this lake. There are very few in this lake. Trout is what this lake is known for. Bite depends on when the plants are...go figure. Anyway this is a very nice lake to relax on and the camp grounds aren't bad! I'll be there next week myself but will be fishing McClure. Have fun!

Scott-McSwain is below the damn that holds back McClure=once you pay to go in you are ok to fish either lake as they are both Merced Irrigation District lakes. MCswain has a great trout bite during the spring/summer trolling small Rapals in just about ANY color! Bass you are better off tryin McClure-I personally like to fish Cottonwood area with darter heads and salt and pepper or morning dawn/chart. tail plastics. Spinnerbaits can kill here too!
