The first day of the tournament we started with a very small limit of smallmouth in the first few minutes and then stuck a five-pound smallmouth on a crankbait. Then around midday, we added two more very nice smallmouth. When all was said and done we had 18.76lbs and were sitting in 5th. Ahead of us were a 26lb bag of largemouth, a 21lb bag of largemouth and other mixed bags of both smallmouth and largemouth.

Day 2 we stuck with our plan and fished for smallmouth but something change. As you can see in the map, the lake is really just a river. It is a dammed up part of the Spokane River and current is everything. The current was much different (and slower) in our key areas and that is probably why we couldn't duplicate our success. We weighed in 9lbs and finished first out of the money for the second year in a row.

The largemouth guys still caught some hefty fish the second day and the winners had 44lbs and change for two days. I guess next year we need to pick green instead of brown.
