genesis trolling motor???

i am thinking of buying a genesis by minnkota.does anyone have any pros/cons on this trolling motor? thanks in advance

I had one. It was great when it worked.
The computer in it was sensitive and would fry easy. The foot pedal went out also.
Mine was fixed under waranty.
I sold it as soon as I got it back from the repair shop.
I heard they discontinued them due to all the problems.
I wouldn't buy one even if it was cheap. Eventually you will be looking at a huge repair bill.

i know it is no longer available.the boat i am thinking of buying is equipped w/one.trolling motors are very exspensive,so if this was a bad product i can use it in my negotiations. thanx

The Genesis had some problems but most of the bugs were worked out. Minn Kota stop making them because of poor sales. They will still have parts for them for about ten years.
